Tuesday, Sept. 16 Leadership Keynote Engaged, Aligned, Accountable:Leading People Safely During Times of Tremendous Change 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Chaunte Lowe 4X Olympian; Author; TEDx Speaker; Breast Cancer Thriver
Monday, Sept. 15 | 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Opening Keynote Decision-Making to Win at the Game of Life
Campbell Institute Forum — MonDay, Sept. 15 From Reactive to Proactive: Advancing EHS Performance Through Leading Indicators and ASTM Standards 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
If there’s an art to facing obstacles and coming out on top, Chaunte Lowe takes the Gold. The world renowned high jumper lives to conquer barriers, racking up 4 Olympic Games Appearances, 3 Global Championship medals, 3 American records, and several global accolades. Many are surprised to learn that she achieved most of these accomplishments while also holding the title of “mother of three.” Her performances on the field have earned her inductions into three separate halls of fame and four separate invitations to be honored at the White House by several US Presidents. Lowe, a worldrenowned resilience speaker, has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Huffington Post, Vogue, Glamour, Essence, and Sports Illustrated. When speaking, she is true to how she performs. She is animated, entertaining, and humorous. She dances and plays to the crowd as she shares stories of beating impossible odds, time and time again. She possesses the ability to keep the group engaged and hanging on to her every word. Those who get a chance to encounter her leave inspired and motivated. Her infectious personality is electrifying. You can’t help but leave an interaction with her with a winning, “I can do ANYTHING” attitude. Chaunte would have never guessed, with all that she accomplished, that her biggest obstacles would come off the track. In 2019, Lowe was rattled with the devastating diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer, which is among the most aggressive forms. In a state of disbelief, Chaunté took the crushing blow head-on, being forced to bow out of the national championships for a double mastectomy and miss the world championships for chemotherapy. Still, in Chaunté fashion, she decided that she would fight against the odds and still train through chemo in hopes of making the delayed 2020 US Olympic team. Now known as the utmost expert on resilience, her advocacy work focuses on early detection and breast cancer awareness to save lives. Reaching hundreds of millions of people, her work was honored with the NCAA Inspiration Award, The ‘Hero Among Us’ award, and she was recently named to Georgia Tech’s 40 under 40 2021 Class.
The Campbell Forum brings together EHS leaders and innovators for a critical conversation on transforming workplace safety strategies—from lagging metrics to proactive, prevention-focused approaches. This session explores the evolving role of ASTM standards in establishing Serious Incidents and Fatalities (SIFs) classification criteria and guiding the shift toward leading indicators for the practical steps organizations can take to embed prevention into the core of their EHS systems. Attendees will gain insight into WHY the industry must prioritize prevention, HOW SIFs and pSIFs can be classified, HOW leading indicators can be implemented effectively, and WHAT impact this can have on preventing Serious Injuries and Fatalities SIFs. Learn from real-world examples and walk away with actionable strategies to lead your organization into a more predictive, resilient future.
Shaping the Future of SIF Prevention: Implementing Proposed ASTM Standards on Risk and Engagement Serious Incidents and Fatalities (SIFs) remain a critical challenge across industries—and prevention starts with smarter prioritization and stronger engagement. In this interactive Campbell Workshop, participants will explore two ASTM standards proposed by NSC: A standard for risk prioritization and reduction to help organizations focus on what matters most A standard for enabling employee and executive engagement to align leadership and frontline actions Together, these proposed standards offer a powerful framework for building a proactive safety culture that targets SIF prevention at its core. Attendees will gain insight into the standards' development, learn why they are vital to the future of safety, and leave with practical tools and implementation strategies to begin applying these concepts in their own organizations.
Evolving the Standard: Advancing SIF Prevention Through ASTM E2920 Join this hands-on Campbell Workshop for a deep dive into the ongoing transformation of ASTM E2920—the standard guide for identifying potential and actual serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs). As workplace safety expectations evolve, so too must the frameworks that guide them. This interactive session will explore how the 2920 standard is being updated to reflect a sharper focus on prevention. Facilitated by experts involved in the standard’s development, the workshop will provide participants with: A behind-the-scenes look at what’s changing and why Practical tools and methods aligned with the updated standard Real-world insights on how organizations are applying these principles to reduce SIF risk Whether you're new to ASTM E2920 or actively using it, this session offers a collaborative space to explore how the standard can drive meaningful change—and save lives.
